The Marvel Cinematic Universe has seen quite a lot of changes and development over the years, which has received mixed responses from fans and critics alike. After all, fans have gotten tired of Marvel’s formula now. This includes Marvel’s subpar visual effects in most of their recent movies as well.
Interestingly enough, quite a few fans prefer how visual effects were done in the older Marvel Cinematic Universe movies, as they felt it was grounded in reality alongside sci-fi. The best example would certainly be Robert Downey Jr’s Iron Man in this case.

Iron Man has seen quite a few advancements in his suit over the course of his appearances in the Marvel Cinematic Universe movies. Beginning with just Mark I back in 2008, Iron Man’s suit underwent many changes as he developed better technology.
Perhaps the biggest change Iron Man’s suit got was after he incorporated nanotechnology with his Mark L suit, which was introduced in Avengers: Infinity War back in 2018. The suit directly materialized and reshaped itself in a matter of seconds.

Interestingly enough, a clip resurfaced which featured Iron Man suiting up inside a helicopter duringCaptain America: Civil War.A fan commented on the clip and stated how he preferred MCU’s earlier days, where science fiction felt grounded in reality. He also stated that nanotechnology is just another word for magic – thereby trolling Iron Man’s eventual upgrade in the MCU. Regardless, Iron Man’s importance in the MCU will never be reduced and that is all that matters, especially if they end up bringing him back again.
