The domestic abuse case that has led famous Hollywood star Jonathan Majors to the doors of the court has been in full effect for the better half of 2023. Since March, the star had been charged with domestic abuse allegations by his ex-girlfriend Grace Jabbari, and the legal hearing of the court began in August and had been going on until now.
Recently, the verdict of the case has been handed to the judge by the jury, which has declared Majors to be the guilty party in this lawsuit. In the wake of this declaration, Marvel Studios and Disney have decided to take action and relieve the star of his role as Kang The Conquerer from the MCU. Thus, we have come up with a list of stars who can potentially replace Majors for his role.
1: Will Smith
With the dynamic nature that Kang has been seen displaying throughout the Multiverse with different variants of himself in the MCU, we would require a star of an equal caliber to match that performance. And when it comes to dynamism, there’s no one better at it than Will Smith, with his uncanny ability to switch his characteristics on the fly for his roles.
2: Denzel Washington
Another legendary name from Hollywood, Academy Award winner Denzel Washington, is most popularly known for playing highly intellectual and calculated roles in his career along with some seriously bada*s characters as well. Thus, if he takes on the role of Kang in the MCU, we might see a different side of the villain, which would be a more ruthless and intimidating threat.
3: Yahya Abdul-Mateen II
One of the stars that seems to be the natural pick for Marvel Studios to replace Majors for his role. Yahya Abdul-Mateen II doesn’t require the preparation to play the role of a dangerous villain in the MCU, as he has already proven just how dangerous he can be with his role as Black Manta in theAquamanseries. Thus, if he is chosen to be the replacement, then the franchise will be in very capable hands.
4: Regé-Jean Page
A major upcoming star in the industry, Regé-Jean Page has made a name for himself with his popular role in Netflix’sBridgertonseries. But, his career has been far more versatile than his role in the show, which might be the incentive that the MCU may be looking for. Since the cinematic juggernaut is known for working with rising stars of the industry, Page’s impressive resume might push them to make him the next Kang.
5: John David Washington
Just like his esteemed father, actor John David Washington is also one of the most talented stars in the industry, only made more clear by his stellar performance in Christopher Nolan’sTenet.But what the star brings with his mystic on-camera persona is his versatility for much more, which is the key to making the depiction of Kang a success. Thus, Marvel Studios might find what they need with the star.
