Netflix’sOne Piece Live Actionhas been renewed for season 2. Eiichiro Oda, the creator ofOne Piece, confirmed it by hinting at Tony Tony Chopper’s entry in the upcoming season. Even though the storyline was adapted from the anime, the live adaptation took the risk of making a few changes. Those efforts were highly praised, asOne Piecewent on to become one of the best series of 2023.

The series had several fan-favorite moments, including Shanks saving Luffy, Zoro vs. Mihawk, Buggy vs. Strawhats, etc. There were also several characters that the fans loved. While most of the cast will return in season 1, there are a few who might not appear in the sequel. Here are five fan-favorite characters fromOne Pieceseason 1 who might not appear in season 2.
Kaya is a young woman who lives in Syrup Village in the Gecko Islands. She is the childhood friend of Usopp. She is blonde with pale skin. Kaya inherited a fortune from his parents and currently resides in the most luxurious mansion in Syrup Village. If the live adaptation follows theOne Pieceanime, Kaya will not return in season 2. She might make a small appearance in later seasons when Usopp will have a bounty upon him. Kaya’s screen time was limited to the Syrup Village arc.

4Red-Leg Zeff
Red-Leg Zeff is the adoptive father and cooking mentor of Sanji. Together, they used to run the restaurant Baratie. He was the captain of the Cook Pirates before his crew got annihilated by a storm. Like Kaya, Red-Leg Zeff has also used up most of his screen time and may not return inOne Pieceseason 2. In the anime, he is only shown when Sanji gets a new bounty and reacts to it. So, until Sanji gets his first bounty, Zeff will not return.
3Dracule Mihawk
According to theOne Pieceanime, Dracule Mihawk’s next appearance will be in the initial stages of the Sky Island Saga. So, Mihawk is most unlikely to appear inOne Piece Live ActionSeason 2. He is one of the seven warlords and is the world’s strongest swordsman. He is a fan-favorite character in manga, anime, and live adaptations. The fans will miss him in season 2.

Nojiko is Nami’s adoptive sister and lives in Coco Village. Even though the sisters had a falling out, they patched up by the end of season 1. Nojiko plays a similar role to Usopp’s Kaya and Sanji’s Red-Leg Zeff. She only appears when the Strawhat Pirates achieve something. Nojiko wishes the best for her sister. So she is one of the few fan-favorite characters who might not appear in season 2.
Shanks is probably the most important character that may not appear inOne Pieceseason 2. He is the captain of the Red-Hair Pirates and plays a big role in inspiring Luffy to be a pirate. Shanks is one of the strongest characters in theOne Pieceworld and a fan-favorite one, too. It will be a big miss for the fans who expected to see him in season 2 of Netflix’sOne Piece Live Action.
