The MCU is gearing up for its next theatrical film with Brie Larson’sThe Marvels.The sequel to the 2019 solo flick is currently making headlines for two surprising reasons. It will be the most expensive non-Avengers film with the shortest runtime in the MCU with 1 hour and 45 minutes.

The marketing of the film has led to decent excitement from fans and the general public. The film will put together Larson’s Captain Marvel, Teyonah Parris’s Monica Rambeau, and Iman Vellani’s Ms. Marvel.
The film is currently scheduled to release on August 09, 2025. Recently the film received a Chinese poster for its release in the country. There was a significant change in the marketing of the film in the region.

As reported byThe Direct, there was a significant change in the marketing there, especially about the film’s title. In China, the film will be released under the name惊奇队长2, which translates toCaptain Marvel 2.

The firstCaptain Marvelmade an impressive $155 million from China alone. Thus it is wise for the makers to release the sequel by naming it plainly asCaptain Marvel 2so that Chinese fans will be automatically excited that a sequel to a film they enjoyed is coming soon.

“The biggest challenge was finding the balance between my point of view as a director and as a comic book nerd. Obviously, there are changes between the comics and the movies, and sometimes I’m like, ‘Whoa, whoa, whoa!’ Sometimes Kevin would be like, ‘You’re being too much of a nerd. Please stop.'”
