Story quests are the meat and potatoes of any Monster Hunter game, at least, until you hit High Rank or Master Rank. This also holds true for the latest Monster Hunter title, Monster Hunter Wilds, albeit for a slightly different reason. While previous Monster Hunter games featured a story, it was never the primary focus of the experience. Instead, the story was just an excuse to drive the gameplay, giving players some motivation to go out and hunt monsters. However, in the case of MH Wilds, the story is one of the primary aspects of the experience, akin to a traditional role-playing game. While the story quests don’t overstay their welcome, they are an essential part of the game.

List of Main Story Quests in Monster Hunter Wilds
The main story of Monster Hunter Wilds is divided intosix chapters. The first three chapters are part ofLow Rank. Once you complete the third chapter, you reach theHigh Rankpart of the game, starting with aYian-Kut-Kuhunting quest. After you capture the Yian-Kut-Ku, you are free to tackle the High Rank. The Low Rank is very story-heavy. As you progress through Low Rank quests, you will be constantly bombarded with cutscenes and dialog. However, once you hit High Rank, the story starts taking a backseat. There are still quite a few cutscenes in HR, but not as many as in Low Rank. The High Rank part of MH Wilds is very reminiscent of past Monster Hunter games.
Most quests in Monster Hunter Wilds take somewhere between 15-30 minutes to complete. Once you complete all the main story quests in HR, you get access to the game’s endgame content andInvestigations.
