Budget Gamers Rejoice! NVIDIA Unveils Affordable RTX 5060 & 5060 Ti GPUs
NVIDIA has finally taken the wraps off its new midrange graphics cards, the RTX 5060 and the RTX 5060Ti. After the disastrous launch of the RTX 5000 series with inflated prices and stock shortages, the company is hoping for a turnaround with its new midrange cards. Here’s everything you need to know about them.

RTX 5060 Cards Bring DLSS 4 Frame Generation to Budget Gamers
The new RTX 5060 series card is based on the company’sBlackwell RTX architecturebased on a4nm process. The main highlight, however, remains the support for technologies likeDLSS 4 Multi Frame Generation, Neural Rendering, and advancements in ray tracing.

Both cards offer 5th generation Tensor cores and 4th generation RT cores. You get all the DLSS 4 features, including 4x frame generation and Reflex 2.0 for reduced latency.
These cards rely on the PCIe 5.0 user interface, although they are limited to 8 lanes instead of 16. Moreover, for video editing and productivity, the NVENC encoder and NVDEC decoder apart from 4:2:2 video encoding and decoding.
The company claims it is twice as fast as the previous generation cards due to advancements like DLSS 4 Multi Frame Gen, Ray Reconstruction, and Super Resolution.
RTX 5060 Ti Specifications
Let’s start with the most expensive RTX 5060TI, which is based on the GB206 die and has 4608 CUDA cores. With a TDP of 180W, it is available in both 16GB and 8GB variants with GDDR7 memory and a 128-bit memory bus.
You get a base clock of 2.41GHz and a boost clock of 2.51GHz. Furthermore, it has a 28 Gbps memory clock and 448GB/s memory bandwidth.
RTX 5060 Specifications
Coming to the cheapest card in Nvidia’s arsenal is the RTX 5060. It is a cut-down version of the more expensive 5060TI. It has a mere 3840 CUDA core and a single variant with 8GB of DDR7 VRAM, which frankly isn’t adequate in 2025.
While it is based on the same GB206 die, the base clock has been tuned down to 2.28GHz and the boost clock to 2.5GHz. Thankfully, it does consume significantly less power at 145W, although it’s still higher than the 115W of the RTX 4060, so it isn’t suitable for ultra slim PCs.
Double Performance With Fake Frames?
The company claims both the RTX 5060 and 5060 Ti are at least 20 to 25 percent faster than their predecessor. While NVIDIA has shared some numbers, they are based on multi-frame generation and upscaling, so it’s best to take them with a pinch of salt.
For instance, the RTX 5060 Ti gets 171 FPS in Hogwarts Legacy with 4x Frame Gen compared to 87 on the 4060 Ti with 2x Frame Gen. This is at 1440p Max graphics and DLSS set to quality mode. In games where Multi Frame Gen isn’t supported, Nvidia states that gamers can expect at least a 20 percent improvement.
The RTX 5060 promises over 100 FPS in demanding games and 300+ FPS in competitive titles likeMarvel Rivals. However, this is with 4x Frame Generation and DLSS set to Quality mode.
Pricing, Availability, and New Laptops!
Nvidia is hoping that those with older GPUs, such as the RTX 2060 or the GTX 1660, will upgrade to the new RTX 5060. The RTX 5060 starts at $299, the same as last year, and will be available from May 2025.
Similarly, the RTX 5060 Ti will launch on April 16 and will be available in 8GB and 16GB variants. The 8GB configuration will cost $379, while the 16GB one could set you back by $429. The 8GB model is $30 cheaper, while the 16GB one is $70 cheaper than its predecessor.
While there aren’t any founder’s edition cards, OEMs likeASUS, Colorful, Gainward, GALAX, GIGABYTE, INNO3D, KFA2, MSI, Palit, PNY, and ZOTAC will offer one. This will include both stock and overclocked variants.
Nvidia has also revealed that the RTX 5060 laptops will arrive in May starting at $1099. While they aren’t exactly affordable, you get all the features of the desktop counterparts, including multi-frame generation. Nvidia says these will be available in laptops as slim as 14.9mm.
