Joseph Gordon-Levitt is an American actor known for several movies likeInception,500 Days of Summer, and,Don Jon.The actor has also worked with veteran director Christopher Nolan in the 2012 movieThe Dark Knight Rises.

Portraying the role of John Blake in the 2012 movie, Joseph Gordon-Levitt had the opportunity to work alongside Christian Bale and Christopher Nolan in the 2012 film and he loved it. Comparing the film to MCU movies, Gordon-Levitt pointed out the brilliance of Nolan’s mind while dismissing the MCU as an endless loop.
When Joseph Gordon-Levitt Hailed Christopher Nolan’sThe Dark Knight Rises
At the end ofThe Dark Knight Rises,Christian Bale’s Batman has a tough choice to make. When Catwoman begs Bruce Wayne to leave the city and run away from the bomb, Wayne acts like a noble superhero and flies away with the bomb into the sea.

But before he flies off and the bomb detonates, Christian Bale gives an inspiring speech to Catwoman. Stating that he was just an ordinary man, Bruce Wayne essentially states that anyone with the right amount of courage could be Batman. As per theIMDBquotes, Joseph Gordon-Levitt stated that the ending was just perfect in terms of symbolism and future movies. While comparing the MCU movies and Nolan’sThe Dark Knight Trilogy, here’s what Gordon-Levitt thought about the 2012 movie.
“I know we’re all used to the sort of Marvel movies, which are just kind of endless series they don’t really have a beginning, middle, and end.”

He further continued,
“But I think Christopher Nolan very much thought of The Dark Knight Rises as a conclusion, and there’s a theme that runs through all three of those movies that begins in the first movie, runs through the second movie, and it concludes in that moment where he says that Batman is more than a man, Batman is a symbol”saidJoseph Gordon-Levitt.

He concluded his statement by stating that the ending was just perfect for that story (something that is rare in superhero movies).
“And so to have another man other than Bruce Wayne kind of becoming Batman at the end of that trilogy, I think that’s the perfect ending to that story.”

Another point that brings brilliance to Christopher Nolan’s movies is his love for secrecy. Talking about the 2012 movie, Joseph Gordon-Levitt had no idea that his character would be revealed as Robin until after the movie was released!

At the end ofThe Dark Knight Riseswhen the dust has settled over Gotham, the lawyer’s clerk reveals John Blake’s real name. The character was portrayed by Joseph Gordon-Levitt but he had no idea that his character’s real name was“Robin”.
After filming had ended, Christopher Nolan had added the name during post-production and had kept it a secret from the entire crew and cast of the film. This essentially asserted Gordon-Levitt’s statements that since Nolan had left a place for another Batman, so did he leave a place for his loyal sidekick Robin.
