Shawn Levy Shared an Important Filming Detail AboutDeadpool 3
During his recent conversation with Deadline, Shawn Levy also shared an important detail aboutDeadpool 3.The director stated that he had been a big fan of the franchise since the very first movie and did not want to mess with it in any way. The threequel would be R-rated like the previous two movies in the film series, and Levy has kept it“raw [and] audacious.”
He further went on to state that unlike most superhero movies nowadays, theDeadpoolthreequel doesn’t rely on a digital environment. During an interview withDeadline, he said,

“We went to great lengths to not shoot it on soundstages with digital environments … we wanted something that felt grounded [and] real. The internet has proven that by revealing pictures of our shoot.”
The soundstage is an indoor environment in a large and empty space with high ceilings and walls, often multiple LED walls that can be set up according to the sequences in a movie. It has been used in multiple superhero movies, includingThe Avengers, Iron Man, The Dark Knight, and many others.

Filming in the digital environment helps to establish the fantastical and larger-than-life characters in such movies. However, Levy shared that he avoided using them as he wanted to keep the film grounded and real for the return of both Reynolds’ and Jackman’s most iconic characters.
Deadpool 3is set to release on July 25, 2025.
