Lost Soul Asideis an indie hack and slash title inspired byFinal Fantasy XVandDevil May Cry. The game began development in 2014 with a single creator, Yang Bing, as part of a Kickstarter campaign. Although it had a fairly slow start, Sony became involved with the project in 2016, and placedLast Soul Asidewithin the China Hero Project. The game has been created using Unreal Engine 4 and is set to release on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and PC.

The China Hero Project is a Sony Interactive Entertainment Shanghai program that helps Chinese video game developers release titles internationally. It was through this program and the direction of Sony that Bing was able to establish Ultizero Project, the development team forLast Soul Aside.

Although there is not much known about the RPG hack and slash at this point, we do know the story revolves around protagonist Kazar, a sword wielder. The character has become one with a symbiotic race known as Arena and will have to manage the powers that come from this connection throughout the plot.Lost Soul Asidewill be open world and players may traverse the fantasy map by foot or by magic. The environment will involve a post war setting, with conflicts and enemies at every turn.

The most recent glimpse fans have had ofLost Soul Aside, was at a convention called ChinaJoy. Although not officially released, one of the attendees filmed some of the gameplay and has posted it online. A link to the video is posted at the bottom of this article for those interested.

What Does the Lost Soul Aside Video Show

The beginning of theLost Soul Asidevideo shows the protagonist, Kazar, running around the ruins of several buildings, carrying his sword and using magic. It appears the combat will be fairly fast paced, as the player in the clip fights various creatures and foes. There are some instructions and directional indicators in the video, however, they are fairly small and written in Chinese.

The fact that this footage shows off such high quality graphics and gameplay indicates the title is getting close to a release. There are a plethora of combination attacks and special magic abilities utilized in the video that would point to late development.

Those who are interested inLost Soul Asideand/or who have been waiting anxiously for it to come to consoles, should certainly take a look at this video. It may not be the same quality as a Sony marketing trailer, but it does show the progress Bing and his team have made on the game. They have clearly worked hard to put something fresh and original together, while also calling back to games likeFinal Fantasy XVandDevil May Cry. The gameplay footage itself is something that can be difficult to describe in words, and is best seen first hand.
