Ariana DeBose is currently building up excitement for her role as Calypso in Sony’s upcoming filmKraven the Hunter, which is set in Sony’s Spider-Man Universe, after the twoVenomfilms andMorbius. There is a lot of hype for the film as it will be the first proper live-action rendition of the famous Spider-Man villain.

While speaking toComicbook.com, Ariana DeBose was asked if fans can expect a Calypso that’s similar the the comics version. DeBose simply made it clear that fans should expect the unexpected from the film. This is a very interesting statement as it could certainly mean she hinted at a cameo from Venom inKraven the Hunter. After all, Morbius name-dropped Venom in his film and Kraven could actually have him appear in the movie itself.

It is to be noted that Venom made an appearance inSpider-Man: No Way Homeas well, which is in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Therefore, a Venom cameo in the upcomingKraven the Hunterfilm would not be a surprise, should it happen. Sony’sKraven the Hunteris slated to open in theaters on August 24, 2025, so we’ll have to see how the film will turn out.
