Star Warshas been a massive hit franchise with a billion-dollar success. And just so as it happens, Zack Snyder took a personal interest in creating a spin-off idea for the film series. However, despite creating an original script that was far away from the established Skywalker storyline, Disney shelved the project.

Following the grand success of Zack Snyder’s 2021 movieArmy of the Dead,Netflix joined hands with the filmmaker and gave his the green signal to proceed with theStar Warsspinoff. Naming itRebel Moon, Snyder is currently preparing it for its initial debut. Splitting the Netflix original movie into two films, the filmmaker pledges extreme versions.

Disney Turned Down Zack Snyder’sStar WarsSpinoff
Following the massive success ofStar Warsand its generational influence, the franchise made billions of dollars in the global market. ConsideringStar Warsa masterpiece, several filmmakers took a keen interest in the franchise and came up with their reboot and spinoff ideas. However, none compared to Zack Snyder could make an impact.
Dates as early as 2013, when Disney purchased Lucasfilms, rumors emerged in full flight about Snyder’s involvement withStar Wars. Further, the filmmaker himself appeared on theHappy Sad Confusedpodcast and revealed how his film was set to take place separate from the Skywalker saga. However, eventually, it was revealed Disney turned down Snyder’s idea of a spinoff.

“My idea was just: give me the keys and I’ll take her for a spin” Zack Snyder stated.
However, although the pitch never made progress, the project didn’t appear dead. Constantly working on the script,Zack Snydertried to keep his idea alive by re-developing the concept, over and over again. “I’ve been working on it, just away from the Star Wars universe, just on my own as a sci-fi thing” Snyder explained.

Finally, following the grand success of his 2021 movieArmy of the Dead, Netflix took great interest in his madness for theStar Warsspinoff. Eventually, Snyder’s spinoff,Rebel Moonfound extensive care under Netflix.

Netflix Collaborated With Zack Snyder ForRebel Moon
Receiving a green signal from Netflix, Zack Snyder has been preparing for his Snyderverse movieRebel Moonaka theStar Warsspinoff. Creating the sci-fi extravaganza, the filmmaker is building not just one world but a sprawling menagerie of planets. Giving his film a futuristic touch, the new Netflix space saga is to create this fictional universe.
Using his estimated budget of at least $166M Zack Snyder manifestsRebel Moonfor a larger community called Providence, which has the Old West metropolis-like appearance. Bringing in cyborg warriors, giant half-humanoid arachnids, and ancient robots with copious digital effects, Snyder tries creating modest worlds.
“Of course, it’s a space opera, but let’s not lens it that way. Let’s lens it in a more intimate way so that the sci-fi elements feel more grounded.” Zack Snyder stated. Focusing the film on outcasts, malcontents, and refugees from many disparate planets joining forces against a punishing authoritarian government, Snyder finally accomplished what he had been mulling.
Debuting on Netflix on December 22,Rebel Moonis a saga split into two parts. The first version of the movie is more will be a fantasy adventure, while the later cut will be strictly for adults.
