Vin Diesel’sRiddickMade it to Netflix’s Top 10
Vin Dieselhas been talking about the fourth film under David Twohy’s science fiction franchise,Riddick, since 2014. And the latest update came from him when he shared an Instagram post in May 2022. Writer and director of the film, David Twohy, has also confirmed working on a fourth film titledRiddick: Furya.
Followed by the announcement of the fourth film, Netflix added the franchise consisting ofPitch Black,The Chronicles of Riddick, andRiddick. The franchise was released on the streaming giant on August 22, 2025. And within a week of its release, the 2013 film in the franchise,Riddick, made it to its top 10 trending shows and movies.

While the film failed to shine at the box office and received negative reviews from critics, it was another hit for the fans of the franchise andThe Pacifierstar. The first film under the franchise,Pitch Black,became a cult classic and a sequel for the 2000 film,The Chronicles of Riddick,was released in 2004 followed by a threequel,Riddick, in 2013.
And as the makers of the film move ahead with a fourth film, seems like fans are already going through the events of the last movie in the franchise.Riddick: Furyais still in pre-production, and no major updates regarding the next movie are available yet.

The director of the three films, David Twohy, has announced that he will“honor [fans’] call-to-action with Riddick: Furya.”Although no major details about the film are available yet, the director has said that the fourth film in the franchise will focus on Riddick’s origin.
Along with Vin Diesel, plenty of cast members are expected to reprise their respective roles in the upcoming film.Riddick: Furyacould feature some of the star actors if the film brings back its original cast, which includes Karl Urban, Dave Bautista, and Katee Sakhoff.

Twohy and Vin Diesel have suggested that the next film will focus on the origin of Riddick, where he is expected to explore his homeland of Furya. He has vague memories of the place, and once he gets there, he learns about the struggles other Furians are going through.
The film is also expected to introduce some new characters as it explores Riddick’s homeland. The storyboard shared by theFind Me Guiltystar on his Instagram has also led fans to speculate multiple things.
