Mortal Kombat 1’s Success Can Welcome Additional Content
Even before its launch, NetherRealm Studios has been vocal about the game’s future with players already aware ofKombat Pack 1, a DLC announced for the game, expected to launch Spring of next year. This DLC contains some popular characters from different franchises like Omni-Man, Homelander, and Peacemaker and the rest of the character roster will also include familiar faces like Takashi Takeda, Ermac and Quan Chi from theMortal Kombatfranchise.

The game’s successful launch serves as the foundation for a bright future for the franchise. For one, existingMortal Kombatfans get to experience familiar stories and character arcs in new ways. Secondly, new fans get to see their favorite characters (even those who exist outside theMortal Kombatuniverse) in the possibly best fighting game of our times. As it happens, the R-rated world ofMortal Kombathas the potential to be a canvas for every comic book and superhero storytelling device.
In recent times, a few leaks have suggested that we can expect characters like Ghostface and Cassie Cage to make their moves in the existing universe ofMortal Kombat 1. Considering how often characters from different worlds make their appearances in this franchise, we won’t be surprised to see more personalities from a diverse range of supernatural realms, too.

“It would have been ideal for us to have released the version that we absolutely wanted, but anything that we’re finding a problem with is on our list and is going to be fixed.”

In the present time, the plethora of issues that currently exist on Switch’s version ofMortal Kombat 1has led to the devs focusing their attention on fixing problems. In an interview at the San Diego Comic-Con, Boon mentioned howMortal Kombat 1will given the same kind of love and attention as previous games, as the studio is focusing on a strong gameplay experience. For instance, the to-and-fro between characters like Peacemaker and Omni-Man would be one heck of a thing to hear.
