Simon McQuoid brought the hit game seriesMortal Kombatto the big screen with his 2021 live-action adaptation of the game. The film was released two years ago and followed by the revelation that the makers are working on a sequel to the fantasy adventure. Karl Urban, along with other actors, is reportedly associated with the sequel and is expected to portray the lead character of Johnny Cage in the sequel.

Adeline Rudolph Joined the Cast ofMortal Kombat 2

As per The Hollywood Reporter, 28-year-old actress Adeline Rudolph has joined the cast of theMortal Kombatsequel. The director of the 2021 film, Simon McQuoid, is also working on the sequel, andThe BoysstarKarl Urbanhas joined the cast as the lead character, Johnny Cage.

Rudolph will star as Kitana in the sequel, who was introduced inMortal Kombat 2and has become one of the signature characters of the game. She uses cutthroat steel fans as her weapon and was last portrayed by Talisa Soto in the 1995 live-action movie.

Jeremy Slater is working on the script of the sequel that will follow the martial arts fighters defending the Earthrealm from the Outworld. The 2021 film was released in theatres and streaming platform HBO Max at the same time during the pandemic.

It did pretty well in theatres, considering it was released during the pandemic and is among HBO Max’s biggest hits. And with Rudolph’s casting, the anticipation for the sequel has taken rise, as fans believe that Adeline Rudolph is the perfect actress to portray Kitana.

Mileena was portrayed by Sisi Stringer in the 2021 movie. Fans are still hyped up for the sequel and are looking forward to seeing Adeline Rudolph as Kitana. The release updates regarding the sequel are not official yet.
