Recently,Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3was released during its early access period on November 2nd and has now been fully released as of November 10th. During this early access period, many gamers had many concerns regarding the game and its release, as many problems began to arise.

Modern Warfare 3 receives game sharing feature

Some of the issues that appeared during this early access period were mainly aimed at the game campaign, which was incredibly short and felt rushed. However, there was one other issue withModern Warfare 3, which caused a lot of gamers to become disappointed, and that was the lack of game sharing during the early access period. Although there is now good news, as game sharing is now available for players to use.

What Is Gamesharing, and Why Was It Such a Big Deal That It Was Missing?

For those who may not be aware of what gamesharing is, it is a feature that is available on both PlayStation and Xbox consoles that allows a player to purchase a game and share it with another person.

This feature may not seem important to many gamers, but for those who share a home with a partner or a sibling who may have a separate system, this feature becomes a fantastic cost-saving feature. Using this feature allows gamers to only purchase one game and share it between two of them to save money, and many gamers rely on this option.

Modern Warfare 3 receives game sharing feature

Since this feature was missing during the early access period ofModern Warfare 3, many gamers who tend to utilize the gamesharing feature were sadly left short, as only one player was able to play through theModern Warfare 3campaign, which was available at the time.

To make matters worse, this allowed some players to get an advantage over other players, as players who competed in the campaign would gain rewards that could be used to gain increased experience when the multiplayer and zombie modes were released.

This advantage may not seem like a big deal for many players, but that slight 4–5-hour advantage could mean players would be able to acquire and rank up weapons faster than other players. Which in turn would cause many players to dislike the game as they would begin to get demolished by their opponents who had that small head start.

Why Has Gamesharing Now Became Available Within Modern Warfare 3?

So far, there has been no official announcement as to why this feature has now become available withinModern Warfare 3. However, many believe that this could have just been an issue that has become rather common during early access to games, asDiablo 4also had similar issues upon its initial release.

The same account also posted confirming that gamesharing is also available for Xbox. That being said, sinceModern Warfare 3has been released onto theModern Warfare 2andWarzoneshared platform, there is a small chance that gamesharing may not have been considered in the first place and may not have become a feature if not for the backlash from fans.

The reasoning behind this is thatModern Warfare 3isn’t its own game and has been classified as more of a DLC than its own game. Because of this, many gamers were worried that this would causeModern Warfare 3to become similar to the operator bundles that are available withinWarzoneand would be account-based only.
