Robert De Niro reportedly went berserk in court lately during testimony in a lawsuit filed by Graham Chase Robinson, his former personal assistant, who alleges that De Niro was an abusive boss. Her 2019 lawsuit alleges that De Niro allegedly called her names, often while intoxicated, scolded her, and forced her to put in long hours without getting paid.

Graham Chase Robinson, Robert De Niro’s ex-employee, has accused him of workplace harassment, landing him in hot water. In 2019, Robinson sued De Niro, claiming that the actor had subjected her to intolerable working circumstances. De Niro, meanwhile, has refuted the claims, claiming they are untrue and slanderous.

However, according toTheGuardian,Robinson recently released a recording between herself and De Niro where the actor says,“Give me a break with this nonsense. You got us all here for this?”. Apart from this,The Irishmanactor also called the court proceedings“nonsense”. He added,“The whole case is nonsense. It’s absurd. But I’m here!”,and yelled at Robinson,“Shame on you, Chase Robinson!”.

Even though De Niro has refuted every accusation, this is a grave accusation against a well-known and influential person in the entertainment world, and the case is still pending.

According toThe Guardian, Robinson is requesting $12 million in damages, claiming that the trauma she experienced at work has left her jobless and unable to heal from emotional grief and reputational loss after serving his needs, both large and small, for years. She worked for the star for more than a decade, from 2008 to 2019.

According toThe Guardian, De Niro also sued Robinson, alleging that she had taken items from him, including 5 million points that had been accumulated on a business credit card and airline tickets. De Niro also accused her of watching“astounding hours of TV shows”while at work. He is currently seeking the return of three years’ worth of Robinson’s salary, which was $300,000 annually during her resignation in 2019.

However, it is important to note that these are just allegations at this point, andRobert De Nirois entitled to the presumption of innocence. This story also serves as a reminder of how critical it is to establish environments at work where workers feel secure enough to report instances of harassment and discrimination. Nevertheless, the trial is expected to run until 16 June 2025.
