Google Photos Gets a New Search Feature: Here’s How It Works

Let’s be honest, we’ve all been there, trying to find that one image with some specific text in it, maybe a screenshot or a document picture. And then we end up scrolling endlessly or sometimes not finding it at all. Especially when you’re in a hurry or showing it to someone. Well, Google seems to have heard us loud and clear and has now rolled out a new update to fix this. Here’s how to find any text inside an image on Google Photos.

Google recentlyannouncedthis new update through its community forum, that you can now search forspecific words inside your photos. Earlier, it already had somesmart search operators, like letting you find pictures by location names, people, pets, dates, file types, and even events. But now, it just got even smarter with the new “text matches”feature.

So with this new upgrade, all you have to do is put the text in quotation marks, and Google Photos will show you all the images that contain those exact words.

This comes in super handy when you’re trying to find an old document with something like “ID” written on it, or maybe a screenshot of a conversation, a description, an address, or anything like that.
