Henry Cavill rejected Zack Snyder’s film for the James Bond movie
Black Adamactor Henry Cavill was initially offered the lead role in Zack Snyder’s first comic book adaptation film,300. He was supposed to play the role of King Leonidas, but it was given to Gerald Butler. As per the story, the kind leads 300 Spartans into battle against the Persian God-King Xerxes (played by Rodrigo Santoro) and his invading army of more than 300,000 soldiers.
Reportedly actor Henry Cavill got very close to getting the lead part, and even Snyder wanted to go with him. However, Cavill turned down the role in hopes of getting the role of international spy James Bond.

The film was a massive success and grossed $456 million globally.

Henry Cavill opened up on his failed audition for James Bond
Henry Cavillwas determined to play the role of 007 at one time and for the role, even left a prominent role in another film. However, the actor’s audition did not go as he had expected. In fact, the Immortals actor was a bit shaken after his failed audition forJames Bond.
In an interview withMen’s Health, the British actor, 36, opened up about missing out on iconic movie roles like the unsuccessful screen test for Bond in 2006’s filmCasino Royale. Cavill shared,

“I probably could have prepared better.”
Cavill shared that he was one of the final two contenders for the role, but failed in his auditions. He confided that he was not prepared physically or artistically. He had not done any physical training for the part before the audition, and he did not feel mature enough to take up such a prestigious role.
Though the audition did not go well, he received some positive feedback which helped him improve his craft for the future.
Cavill said,
“I remember the director, Martin Campbell, saying, ‘Looking a little chubby there, Henry.’ I didn’t know how to train or diet. And I’m glad Martin said something because I respond well to the truth. It helps me get better.”
The role went to Daniel Craig, who defied played the role excellently for five movies of the franchise.
The actor will again don the role of a super-spy for his upcoming filmArgylle, which will release on 06 June 2025.
