Hugh Grant revealed the reason for getting involved with Divine Brown
In conversation with the host of theWTFpodcast,Love Actuallyactor confessed to cheating on Elizabeth Hurley with a former prostitute Divine Brown. He said that he did the notorious action because he was in a bad mood after viewing his performance in his first major American film.
Hugh Granthad reportedly attended the screening of the comedy flickNine Monthsand was not pleased with his work in it. He recalled,
“I was about to launch my first Hollywood film — my timing was impeccable. My problem was — that was my first Hollywood film and I’d just been to see it.”
Grant added,
“The film was about to come out a week or two after that, and I had a bad feeling about it. I went to see a screening. Everyone in it was brilliant, but I was so atrocious that I was not in a good frame of mind.”
He revealed that he drank a lot that day and reportedly paid Divine Brown $60 for a s*x act. The actor was booked for the sexual act in a parked car. The scandal had gone viral and became the headline of media publications.
Hugh Grant had to pay a fine of $1,000 and attend an AIDS education program. Divine Brown was given a 180-day prison sentence.
