The 51-year-old actress, Carla Gugino in an interview withVulturerevealed that she was unable to secure any spot in the now-famousMad Menseries. She is one of the most talented actresses in the Hollywood industry and has some good projects in her portfolio so to think, what would have been the reason behind her failure, is actually quite simple!

She revealed that her strong acting career eventually led to her dismissal from even getting considered for any spot in the series.
She recalled meeting with the show creator, Matthew Weiner as she stated,

“We were espousing our mutual fandom,”Gugino stated.“I said, ‘I am perfect for Mad Men’. And he said, ‘You’re too famous’.”
She continued,“So I couldn’t win.”

From her statement, it seemed like the creator was looking for some unknown faces at the time who would be recognized for their characters specifically. It eventually happened since show stars including Jon Hamm are widely known for his portrayal in the series.

She caught the eyes of many with her Rebecca Hutman role, the love interest of Ben Stiller’s character in 2006’s film,Night at the Museum.Her role inZack Snyder‘s 2009 action movieWatchmenearned her critical acclaim with the actress and also gained further fame on the small screen by working on projects likeThe Haunting of Bly Manor, The Haunting of Hill House, andThreshold.
The actress has highly impressed Snyder who once mentioned that he would have loved to see her portraying Catwoman in the DCEU.
