Dave Bautista has been quite vocal about the direction he wants for his acting career, further emphasizing that he didn’t want to be remembered as a movie star from WWE but for his acting skills, which can be observed through the variety of roles he has performed throughout his acting career.
Bautista has shared that he doesn’t want to follow in The Rock’s footsteps and create his name as an actor who is capable of different roles. Despite that, the actor clarified that he doesn’t hate theBlack Adamactor and praised him.

Dave Bautista calls The Rock special despite calling him a bad actor
At a time when pro wrestlers were trying to shift in Hollywood and significantly failing including the likes of Hulk Hogan, The Rock managed to break that curse and became one of the biggest movie stars in the industry. Even though Bautista might hate the rock as an actor but he doesn’t hate the person and utterly respects him.
He went on to explain that the Rock has always encapsulated the aura of a movie star even before he was in the movie industry. Bautista’s statement is understandable considering the Rock’s electrifying persona and charm which ruled the attitude era in WWE and became one of the biggest names in wrestling. Dave Bautista went on to state,
“Rock was, in a way, a movie star before he was even a movie star. There is something about him that’s special. I’d never take that away from him, Would I consider him a great actor? F*** no.”

Dave Bautista doesn’t want to be compared with The Rock
Even after coming from the same background,Dave Bautistadoesn’t want to go in theBlack Adamactor’s direction. Dave Bautista emphasized the fact that he doesn’t want to be considered a movie star who is known for a single type of role but a more diverse actor who pursues more dramatic roles.
Even though the Rock has earned his respect over the years, Bautista isn’t wrong when he says the Rock isn’t much of an actor as he has been known for starring as the same guy in big action movies that makes a bunch of money. Whereas Bautista is more inclined towards taking his legacy as more of an accomplished actor by challenging himself with more diverse and difficult roles.
