The film industry has seen a number of directors who have created masterpieces of cinema in their lifetime, but only a few can be compared to the legendary creator Christopher Nolan. The man’s reputation proceeds him as he is infamous for creating some of the most mind-bending and intellectually challenging films in the history of cinema, which has rightfully given him the attention that he unintentionally commands from the public through his projects.
Thus, there is no surprise that a long list of stars who want to work with the director to challenge themselves and experience the greatness of his films with him. But it’s equally bizarre for some star to reject a proposal to play a role in one of those films to play a role in another. Thus, when the celebrated Hollywood star Orlando Bllom decided to reject the director’s offer to play a part in another superhit franchise, people didn’t know what to think about it.

And one of the most praised and celebrated works of his career involves his creation ofThe Dark Knighttrilogy, whose face could’ve beenOrlando Bloominstead of Christian Bale if he hadn’t rejected the offer to go play the role of Will Turner in thePirates of the Caribbean.
During an appearance at the San Diego Comic-Con in 2019,The Hobbitstar was interviewed byMTV News,where he decided to reveal the unknown fact about how he had met with theDunkirkdirector during the casting process for the face of Bruce Wayne in the then-upcomingBatman Begins.He also told them that he had to turn the role down because of his involvement with other franchises at that time. he said:
“I did meet with Christopher Nolan, But I didn’t audition, and it was more of a conversation of … I was in the midst of all this other stuff, and I was like, ‘I can’t,’ I love Christopher Nolan so much, I’d run, not walk, to work with him.”
Despite his desire to work with the director, his roles inThe Lord of the Rings,as well asPirates of the Caribbean,proved to be too strenuous for him to lead a major franchise.

While the hunt for the role of Batman inThe Dark Knighttrilogy might’ve been a long process, the decision to cast Cillian Murphy was an easy one as both of them return to make the upcomingOppenheimeranother smashing success. Ready to depict the life of J. Robert Oppenheimer, the physics professor that created one of the greatest tools of mass destruction known to mankind, Nolan has gone leaps and bounds out of his way to make everything as close to reality as possible, through the most minimal use of CGI.
