The Twilight sagastarted in 2008, starringRobert Pattinsonas Edward Cullen, a vampire with dreamy eyes, who would go on to impact the life of teenager Bella Swan (Kristen Stewart) in a magical way.
Pattinson had worked briefly in theHarry Potterfranchise in 2005 but it was his role in the Catherine Hardwicke-directed film that proved to be his breakout stint, with theTwilight (2008)grossing $408 million globally at the box office. Both Pattinson and Stewart rose to stardom overnight after its release.

At the same time, the romantic fantasy tale of vampires proved to be not everyone’s cup of tea, leading to fans of other genres not leaving any chance to make countless jokes at the expense ofTwilight. “I think I am a judgmental and cynical person who would just mindlessly hate it without having seen anything; I just think I’m a bad person.”
Nevertheless, over the years,The Batmanstar’s opinion seems to have changed, as he quipped it’s not cool to be a “hater” anymore when his co-star Zoë Kravitz told People magazine (via Fox News) that she never watchedTwilight.“That’s so 2010,”he added.

Interestingly enough, even Stewart has been a vocal “hater” of the vampire-and-werewolf-centric series. The final chapter,The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2went on to become the most successful movie in the franchise, grossing $829 million in 2012.
However, the actress, now 33, wasn’t best pleased with how her character’s behavior transformed in the final film, which sees her turned into a vampire and living happily with Edward and her daughter. During an appearance onThe Graham Norton Showin 2012, she remarked (viaUS Weekly):
“As soon as [Bella] becomes a vampire, they kind of ignore their duties instantly. They just wanna bone. It’s the most ridiculous situation. You just had a child! Really?”
In separate interviews, the lead pair have also suggested they struggled to bag more serious roles due to their time in five films that primarily attracted teen audiences.
