James Bond is one of the hottest properties out there. No matter who the actor is, the character created by Ian Fleming has been loved by fans across the eras. No wonder a host of stars would love to get a chance to play him. Who in their right mind would pass an opportunity to play the iconic 007 after all? Mads Mikkelsen would. No matter what happens, the Danish actor has sworn that he will never touch a Bond movie. And that too because of one peculiar reason.

Mads Mikkelsen is not a stranger to the Bond franchise. He starred inCasino Royale, which also marked Daniel Craig’s debut in the franchise. In the 2006 hit, theAnother Roundstar essayed the role of La Chifre.

Playing a villain who lost $100 million to a man who couldn’t play poker was not the ideal warm-up to portraying the Queen’s best spy. But he didn’t have any qualms with the role. His disillusionment with the Bond franchise stems from another fact.

Mads Mikkelsen feels he is not enough ‘James Bond’

We all have an image in mind whenever we hear the name James Bond. You imagine someone British. Someone charming. The whole package. When Daniel Craig was offered the chance to succeed Pierce Brosnan, he was not sure about taking the opportunity.

It would take a lot of convincing by Barbara Broccoli to persuade him to take the role. All doubts about him were not gone though. There were certain people who were still not satisfied with theKnives Outstar. Why? Well… everything.

Mads Mikkelsen was not ready to face the backlash his accent would receive

There were hosts of people who took issue with the 55-year-old’s features. Mads Mikkelsen said,“Everything about him was ‘wrong.’ His height, his nose, his hair”(Variety).And this is why Mads Mikkelson is not up for going for the coveted role.

He continued,“If they had an issue with Daniel’s nose, I am sure they would have an issue with my accent”(Variety).A valid concern indeed. Who knows what would have happened had he ended up with the main role? His accent is bound to be a problem with respect to the utterly British character/
