I Tried Meta AI on WhatsApp: 5 Things You’ll Want to Use it For

I never thought I’d ask WhatsApp for a poem, but Meta AI is here – and it’s amazingly creative. It writes poems, finds funny reels, crafts messages, or generates images without leaving the app. I got early access and took this new integration for a spin. Here is my experience and some fun things you can try with Meta AI, whenever it is available for you.

Fun Things You Can Do With WhatsApp AI

I wanted to see how Meta AI could make my WhatsApp chats fun and useful. Instead of asking basic questions like “Who built the Taj Mahal?”, I put it to the test and focused on how it could enhance my everyday chats. Here are some cool things you’re able to try:

1. Stories, Jokes, and Poems

Meta AI understands simple prompts and can create classic jokes and lighthearted content. It can also help you write stories for children, poems for your girlfriend, or excuses for your boss. However, it avoids NSFW or potentially sensitive topics.

2. News, Weather, Places to Visit, etc.

Meta AI can be a great tool for finding places – restaurants, cafes, and even movies that match your taste. However, you’ll need to specify your location. you may also use it for news, facts, and more.

When I was chatting with a friend about a Sunday outing, but we couldn’t decide a place to visit. Meta AI helped us find some great food spots in South Delhi that fit our budget.

3. Group Quizzes, Trivia, and Polls

Meta AI makes group chats fun with games, polls, and other activities to liven up the conversation. For example, I created a personality quiz my friends could respond to directly in the chat (note: they need Meta AI-enabled). Similarly, I asked for trivia on my favorite TV show, and it kept me entertained while I waited for my flight.

4. Create Images, GIFs, and Invitation Cards

Meta AI cangenerate images using AIand deliver them quickly without requiring credits or subscriptions. At first, I had mixed feelings, but it has improved a ton since Llama 3 came along! It can even add text to images, so that you can create greeting cards or invitations.

I asked Meta AI to draw a penguin playing a guitar and then animate it. The results were awesome, and I got the picture and animation in about five seconds. I also had it create a wedding invitation with the name, date, and time of my choice, and it delivered.

Then I asked for an airplane taking off from the world’s tallest bridge. Meta AI didn’t quite draw France’s Millau Viaduct, but it still created a cool scene with a big bridge and a plane lifting off. Check out this Christmas scene I asked for, and the GIF animation it made for me:

Tip:If you ever see an ‘oops, I can’t generate that image’ error, try a simpler prompt. All the cool images Meta AI creates have a little watermark in the bottom-left corner, so you’ll know they’re created with AI.

5. Find Awesome Reels Directly on WhatsApp

One of the coolest things about Meta AI (especially since it’s from the same company as Instagram) is how easily it finds reels. Want to see popular food vlogs in your area? Funny reels about that viral meme? Clips from your favorite movie? It’s super easy!

Just say, “Hey Meta, give me reels around ,” and it’ll almost instantly find you the five most relevant reels. Tap on them, and they play right in the Instagram app on your phone! Keep in mind that it works best with broader topics for now.

In Short, Here’s What Meta AI Can Do:

And Here’s What It Cannot Do:

WhatsApp Just Got a Whole Lot Smarter

Meta AI adds a whole new dimension to WhatsApp. With Channels,Communities, and now an AI in the mix, WhatsApp feels more feature-packed than ever! It might change from the simple messaging app I remember, but change can be exciting.

Meta AI is surprisingly fun to play with! It finds quick facts, generates hilarious images to share with friends, and even tells a few jokes if you need a laugh. It’s like having a quirky but entertaining friend who is always ready to chat.

Your chats with Meta AIaren’t end-to-end encryptedas your regular WhatsApp messages. This even applies to parts of a group chat where you tag the AI. So, stick to lighthearted topics for now. While Meta AI might still be finding its place in WhatsApp, it sure adds a dose of fun and a fresh new way to use the app.
