Margot Robbieand Tom Ackerley both work in the movie industry. However, unlike Robbie, Tom Ackerley works as a film director and producer, the couple have worked together in films such asI, Tonya,andTerminal.
Nevertheless, Prevention Magazine states that the two had been roommates, and had met on the set ofSuite Francaise.They had been living together as roommates with four other friends. And much like their secret relationship that had been existing for years without much knowledge to the public, Robbie confesses how she always had feelings for the filmmaker.
“We were friends for so long. I was always in love with him, but I thought, ‘Oh, he would never love me back. Don’t make it weird, Margot. Don’t be stupid and tell him that you like him. And then it happened, and I was like, Of course, we’re together. This makes so much sense, the way nothing has ever made sense before.”
The couple decided to tie the knot on the beautiful Gold Coast of Australia, which also happens to be the native land of theSuicide Squadactress. The wedding ceremony caught fans off-guard, as the couple had secretly engaged and decided to keep the news to themselves.

Robbie and Ackerley’s wedding ceremony was pulled off in complete secrecy, as only limited guests were invited to the couple’s wedding ceremony. However, this did not stop Robbie’s wedding dress to go down in secrecy as well, and people got a peek at the actress’ one-of-a-kind dress.
“Robbie opted for an off-the-shoulder, bohemian-style wedding dress for her Australian big day. The gown appears to be A-line, with a simple ribbon defining the waistline beneath a ruffled neckline. Her hair [was] in loose curls around her face, keeping things slightly modern with no veil. However, we just learned that the frock itself is practically vintage—at 30-years-old!”
Margot Robbie’s wedding dress was one-of-a-kind, as the actress chose to wear her mother’s old wedding dress, with some minor changes. Since the couple has kept most of their lives a secret, it is safe to say that the couple would follow the same level of privacy in the future before dropping the bomb.
