Once an actor starts bagging regular roles in Hollywood, their television stint is often buried deep beneath their movie acting credits. From Johnny Depp to Jennifer Lawrence, plenty of stars got their start on television before making it big on the big screen, and subsequently, their fans forgot their time on the small screen.

Jon Hamm

However, Jon Hamm stands among the very few anomalies, who despite featuring regularly in movies, mostly attracts headlines for his work on television, largely because of the sheer popularity of his show,Mad Men.

His portrayal of Don Draper in the drama series about one of New York’s most prestigious ad agencies at the beginning of the 1960s has proven to be a career-defining role, bagging him a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actor in the process. Interestingly, Hamm was also keen to bring his former co-star on the successful ride, but his approach was bluntly turned down.
