Tom Holland Regrets Not Reaching Out to Andrew Garfield After Replacing Him
Tom Holland, who was brought in as the new age-appropriate Spider-Man for the MCU following Marvel’s deal with Sony, recounted feeling bad for not reaching out to Garfield after landing the role. Considering he was still a kid when he landed the biggest role Marvel had to offer, he didn’t bother reaching out to Andrew Garfield after he was axed from the role, which bugged Holland for years.
He toldThe Hollywood Reporter:
“That’s because of my naivete as a kid.I was 19 when I got cast. I was so caught up in getting the role that I never took any time to think about what it must have been like for him. If I’d made my second movie and it didn’t necessarily deliver in the way it should have done and they recast me, I would really struggle to bounce back.”
