Scarlett Johansson’scareer may be at its peak right now but it started on a skit in theLate Night with Conan O’Brien.It was not only her first time on a big show but also her first paying acting job ever. Despite how far she has come, her time in 1993 remains an embarrassing memory in her mind for as long as she can remember.

“It was a very embarrassing piece of acting to look back on now. But I remember this big, red-headed man.”

While she was revisiting the show a decade later to promote Bill Murray’sLost in Translation,she was reminded of her time there. Her role in that skit was nothing major. She was only supposed to spell out some words that were handed to her. Although she was trying her best, she kept messing up and destroying the word altogether. Everyone seemed to enjoy her efforts and congratulated her for the same, except for Andy Richter, who kept correcting her nonetheless.

Scarlett Johansson and Andy Richter did not hit it off as well because the latter kept correcting an eight-year-old kid about her spellings on live television. However, it did not stop the actress from expressing just how big of a fan she actually was.

“I remember Andy after the show, he was just thrilled that I was his biggest fan at the time, and he gave me this signed picture, and I still have it.”
