One of the most popular notions that many high-profile stars tend to follow is to only take roles that they feel strongly about so they can work even harder in making it one of the best works of their career. Robert Pattinson is also a firm believer in that, which has led him to be a part of some of the most successful cinematic pieces in history.

Ranging from critically-acclaimed works of art to commercial blockbusters and franchises in the industry, whenever the star came across an opportunity, he decided to take it if it felt right. But despite all of this, there are some chances that he has missed which he still regrets. One of the biggest from this lot happens to be an Oscar-nominated film that he lost to his future co-star.
Robert Pattinson Regreted Not Being A Part OfThere Will Be Blood
While he might be a leading star in many of the modern-day masterpieces in the Hollywood industry,Robert Pattinsonis not invincible to failed or missed opportunities that he mistakingly or otherwise, failed to grasp at the right time. These films may not have majorly affected his career, but he still is sentimental about not being able to become part of them. One that he probably regrets the most is director Paul Thomas Anderson’s 2007 classicThere Will Be Blood.
Not only was the film a critically acclaimed masterpiece, but it also won the hearts of The Academy as well, which awarded Daniel Day-Lewis the award for Best Actor in a Leading Role and nominated the film for Best Motion Picture of the Year. While he was given the chance to audition for the role of Eli Sunday, the actor remembered he wasn’t able to act upon it. A couple of years later, theHarry Potterstar recalled this incident, saying:

“I remember reading the script and thinking it was the best script ever. I just couldn’t do it… I was gonna go into the audition, but I was just, like, I can’t do it.”
Unfortunately, his fear of the audition made him lose the role, which ultimately went to his futureThe Batmanco-star, Paul Dano.
