James Gunn is trying whatever is in his possession to save the drowning ship of the DC Universe. After DC’s latest film,The Flash,saw a catastrophic fate at the box office, it became necessary to regain the fans’ trust in the franchise.

Gunn, being the master of creation, is probably up with an idea that may save the franchise. Recently, the filmmaker took to Twitter to appreciate Conrad Veidt’s performance inThe Man Who Laughs.Gunn’s post led to speculation that he might introduce the character in his upcoming projects.
James Gunn might bring The Batman Who Laughs to the big screen
James Gunnrecently posted a series of photos that created a buzz among Twitter users. The filmmaker honored the late actor Conrad Veidt for his impressive performance in the classic filmThe Man Who Laughs.In his post, Gunn reflected on the character of Veidt, which later became the inspiration for the creation of DC’s supervillain Joker. This post by Gunn became a source of speculation for his followers that he was probably working on bringing the character to the franchise.

Veidt played the character of Gwynplaine, who had a grotesque grin on his face. Though the character was the lead protagonist of the movie, his unique physical feature inspired the look of the renowned villain Joker.
Looking at this similarity between Gwynplaine and Joker, Twitter users are speculating that Gunn is teasing a classic Joker design for the DCU’s incarnation of the Clown Prince of Crime. Others also suggested that perhaps with this post, Gunn wanted to hint at his upcoming project that might include“The Batman Who Laughs.”

“The Batman Who Laughs”is a maniacal Batman variant featured in the DC comics. Here, the main lead is the evil counterpart and alternate version of Batman (Bruce Wayne) within the Dark Multiverse. He is a combination of both the protagonist Batman and the antagonist Joker.
