James Mangold is one of the most decorated film directors of Hollywood in today’s generation. Apart from directing, he also works as a screenwriter and producer on many occasions. “While I’m sure DC views ‘Swamp Thing’ as a franchise, I would be viewing it as a very simple, clean, Gothic horror movie about this man/monster. I have been toying for years with the idea of making a kind of Frankenstein movie.”
During an interview with Collider,James Mangoldconfirmed that he would be writingSwamp Thingand James Gunn followed up the statement adding that he would be directing it too. The director has put a bit of emphasis on how the MCU is bringing back Hugh Jackman’s Logan in 2024 alongside Deadpool even after he was given a proper ending and claims that DCU’sSwamp Thingwill be such a movie that it will definitely top his MCU creation, Wolverine. Furthermore, it is to be noted down that the filmmaker is a very big fan ofSwamp Thingand Mangold will literally go above and beyond for its success.
