Jim Carrey Turned DownThe Master of Disguise
In comedy,Jim Carreyneeds no introduction. He has a long list of iconic comic roles under his arms. Mostly known for his 90s comedy movies such asThe Mask, Ace Ventura: Pet Detective, Dumb and Dumber,andHow the Grinch Stole ChristmasCarrey endured some of the toughest roles. However, he has rejected quite a few movie roles. During the development of Dana Carvey andAdam Sandlerstarrer 2002 filmThe Master Of Disguise, Carrey was the primary choice for the movie. The makers wanted Carry to play the role of Pistachio Disguisey, who is trained to become a“Master of Disguise”following his parents were kidnapped by a criminal. According to some reports, Carrey turned down the role, and the Pistachio was eventually played bySaturday Night Livestar Carvey.
It was a wise choice, after all. The actor apparently dodged a bullet by rejecting the movie as the Sandler-produced movie turned out to be a critical bomb. The movie scored just 1% on Rotten Tomatoes with a 35% audience score while IMDB users gave a rating of 3.3 out of 10.

The Perry Andelin Blake-directed movie made at the box office $43.4 million against a budget of $16 million.

Is Jim Carrey Retiring?
Carrey may stop contributing to his long legacy of movies as an actor. As per reports, Carrey is planning his retirement and he is“fairly serious”about it.“Well, I’m retiring. Yeah, probably. I’m being fairly serious,”Carrey said.
“It depends. If the angels bring some sort of script that’s written in gold ink that says to me that it’s going to be really important for people to see, I might continue down the road, but I’m taking a break.”

TheDumb and Dumberactor further said that he likes his current quiet life where he could focus on his painting and being spiritual.
“I really like my quiet life and I really like putting paint on canvas and I really love my spiritual life and I feel like — and this is something you might never hear another celebrity say as long as time exists — I have enough. I’ve done enough. I am enough.”
Carrey last appeared inSonic the Hedgehog 2reprising his villainous role as Doctor Ivo Robotnik aka Eggman. The movie also starsBen Schwartz,Tika Sumpter, James Marsden,Idris Elba, andNatasha Rothwell. Jeff Fowler-directed sequel of the franchise grossed over $405 million worldwide.
