With Marvel Studios officially entering into the fifth phase of the Marvel Cinematic Universe expansion, there are a lot of things that the cinematic juggernaut has on its plate and a lot of things that need to be done if they are to make the experience of this expansion successfully match that of the previous phases over the years. With the release ofAnt-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania,Marvel Studios seem to be ready to take on this new challenge.
By officially kicking off the Phase, we now have many more projects that the studio has lined up to encompass the entirety of its narration, and one of the narrative stories happens to be connected to Carol Danvers. With the recent announcement made by Disney, we now have the confirmation of the upcomingThe Marvels,for which the president of the company Kevin Feige says that the team-up of the women of Marvel will be comparable to that of the Avengers!
The Marvels Will Recreate The Iconic Team-Up Of The First Avengers Movie!
With the introduction of new superheroes introduced during the Infinity Saga, the Marvel Cinematic Universe expanded itself into new territories and unexplored spaces of the galaxy, which has now brought us to the 5th Phase of the MCU, where the studio is ready to go beyond the universe. The Multiverse Saga has just begun with the release ofAnt-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania,and now, the announcement ofBrie Larsonreturning inThe Marvelsalong with familiar faces has been hyped even further by Marvel Studios’ president Kevin Feige.
In a recent interview withEntertainment Weekly,Feige opened up about the third installment of the Ant-Man franchise in the MCU, along with all the details that he could reveal about the future of the MCU going into Phase 5. During that conversation, when he was asked about what the audience could expect from the upcoming film starring Larson, he was quite excited saying that it will recreate the familiar feeling that 2012’sThe Avengersbrought to the audience. He said:
“But there’s something immensely powerful about seeing Monica and Kamala and Carol together in a frame. To me, it’s only akin to the first Avengers movie and seeing the six of them together in a frame. It’s chill-inducing. They’re so great together, and they all have different histories with one another.”
With such a heavy burden of duty now laying with the upcoming film, it’s up to the actor to make this superhero team-up as iconic as the film it’s being compared to.
What To Expect From The Marvels?
While we might not have the exact details about the plot of the upcoming film, the synopsis, along with hits dropped by Kevin Feige reveal that the movie will be diving further into the Kree-Skrull war, along with Captain Marvel talking an inter-galactic journey to sort things out. Along the way, she would find herself entangled with Kamala Khan and Captain Monica Rambeau, who will team up with Danvers to solve the mess.
