The Marvel Cinematic Universe has had a good run. In between 32 movies and 23 TV Series and spin-off series, it has managed to dominate both big and small screens. And the success of the franchise made superheroes take flight from a cliche category into the mainstream film genre. The MCU is on top of the world and has had profound effects on both the pop culture and the movie industry as well.

However, what made the franchise special was that each movie was interconnected to the other, and built the phase finale through a joint narrative, which took up years of work in advance to pay off. As the franchise is heading deeper into Phase 5, there have been some questionable post-credit scenes in 2016’sDoctor Strangeand 2017’sSpider-Man: Homecoming, which has altogether affected the future of these two franchises.

Marvel Needs To Address Its Cliffhangers InDoctor Strange
2016’sDoctor Strangewas one of the best MCU movies which was perfect in every sense. The film captivated its audience with its gripping and spellbinding plot and outstanding visual effects. The film featuredBenedict Cumberbatchin the lead role of Dr. Stephen Strange, and other star-studded cast members which made the audience entertained throughout the movie. In the post-credits scene, viewers saw Chiwetel Ejiofor in the role of Mordo which made them anticipate that in the sequel, Dr. Strange will take on Karl Mordo.
Disappointingly, that was not the case inDoctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madnessas Scarlet Witch played the villain in the sequel. And in a deleted scene, fans saw Earth-616 Mordo was going to be killed by Scarlet Witch, but that scene never made it to the final version of the film, which keeps a possibility that Mordo might return to the franchise in the near future unless Marvel decides to remove him from it altogether.

Marvel Should Return With The Stinger inSpider-Man 4
Another blunder made by Marvel was in 2017’sSpider-Man: Homecoming, which featuredTom Hollandin the role of Spider-Man. He brought a charming and witty personality to the character, as he struggled to be a high school student and a crime-fighting superhero at the same time, and fans loved him. After our hero took down Michael Keaton’s Vulture, fans saw Michael Mando’s Scorpion knowing the secret identity of the Wall-crawler.
However, in the two sequels, Scorpion was nowhere to be seen, but after the events of the third film, the story for the nextSpider-Manseems to be quite serious, which will be the perfect film to showcase Scorpion as the villain.

Why Does Marvel Need To Work On Its Cliffhangers?
The Marvel Studios must return with Chiwetel Ejiofor’s Karl Mordo inDoctor Strangeand Michael Mando’s Scorpion in the future installments, because they are two of the most iconic villains in the franchise, and fans would love to see these villains in action. Moreover, by returning with these characters, the franchise can make up for the blunder they did in the first place by introducing them without much planning behind it.
Not returning with the characters would disappoint Marvel fans even more, something which the Marvel Studios does not want to do after their subpar performance since the release ofAvengers: Endgamein 2019.

Spider-Man: Homecomingcan be streamed on Netflix.
