When it comes to keeping secrets, Tom Holland and Mark Ruffalo are probably the worst secret keepers. With an infamous reputation for spoiling some of the most important details of Marvel films, the duo has been crowned the Kings of Leaks by fans. However, they can learn from one actor who has gone to extremes to hide his character’s identity: John Cena.

As it turns out, although John Cena was confirmed to star inF9, his character wasn’t revealed until the first trailer. Thus, to hide the fact that he was playing Dom Toretto’s brother in the film, Cena had to take ultra-safety measures and precautions to hide one tiny detail about Jakob Toretto that just might have given his character away.

This goes back to whenJohn Cenawas confirmed to star inF9, but no one really knew how major his role would be in the series. Thus, to hide the fact that he was, in fact, the male protagonist Dom Toretto’s long-lost (and never mentioned before) brother, Jakob Toretto, the pro wrestler had to go to extremes.

And all of this hard work was to hide a small detail that was big enough to spoil the entire ninth installment from theFast & Furiousfilm series: the Toretto cross. Sharing how he managed to hide the“one definable”object that proved his connection with Dom Toretto, Cena toldDigital Spy:
“After every take, take it off, hide it, give it to someone. The costumes are the costumes and they can be whatever you needed it to be, but if there was ever a candid with a coffee in my hand and the cross, that’s a dead giveaway.”

“It’s amazing that that one piece of jewelry has so much energy and gravity around it. That was the one thing I put on before they said roll and as soon as they said cut, I would take it off, and that was how we kept everything under wraps.”
Considering how much effort he had to go through just to hide a small cross from giving away his character’s identity, Tom Holland andMark Ruffaloreally need to learn from John Cena how to keep secrets.

Tom Holland Calls Mark Ruffalo A Bigger Spoiler Than Him
Tom Holland and Mark Ruffalo have a reputation for spoiling Marvel’s films by speaking out a bit too much and giving it all away out of excitement, especially Holland. This has been seen and noted in several interviews and press junkets. However, Holland believes Ruffalo is a bigger spoiler than him.
While fans will most probably disagree with this statement, it’s more or less only the truth. During aQ&A Panel at The FanX convention 2019, the web-slinger was asked who is a bigger spoiler between him and Ruffalo. To this, he said:
“I’ve spoiled a few things, but Mark Ruffalo said that everybody dies at the end of Infinity War. But the thing is, no one took him seriously. Like if I had said that, everyone would be like, ‘Yeah, it probably happens, yeah. That’s probably what happens.’ I mean, Mark live-streamed the first 20 minutes of Thor [Ragnarok] by accident. I didn’t do that. So I have to say Mark is.”
Continuing, he backed up his statement by revealing how he once challenged a journalist on the matter and never saw him again. He said:
“I challenged a journalist the other day. I said the next time I see you, the next film I do, the next press junket, I won’t answer any of your questions unless you make a document of all the things I’ve spoiled. I haven’t seen him. Yeah, so I don’t think I’ve spoiled anything.”
PerhapsTom Hollandhasn’t quite spoiled that much, but he still has given a lot away. Maybe John Cena can teach both Holland and Ruffalo a good lesson?[Laughs]
