Mike Flanagan’s Worst Professional Experience

Mike Flanaganhas worked on several horror movies and TV shows, including the 2018 Netflix supernatural horror dramaThe Haunting of Hill House. Based on the 1959 novel of the same name, the series follows five siblings who suffer from the traumatic experiences of the haunted Hill House they grew up in.

Talking about the show in aBloody Disgustingreport, the filmmaker shared his experience working on the horror TV series. He shared how it was a physically and mentally taxing process.“It had been a grueling production experience,”he said before adding,“The show had nearly killed a lot of us.”

Flanagan shared that every day felt like a battle that they fought“without hope or witness.”He also lost 40 pounds during its production, which clearly indicates the impact working on the show had on him. The grueling and challenging aspects of making the series have made it the worst experience of his career.

And the series’ incredible performance on Netflix also did not change his opinion.“While the final product is something I will always be enormously proud of, it remains the worst professional experience of my life,”he said, as per Bloody Disgusting.
