Meta Quest 3, Meta’s new mixed-reality VR headset, was announced at Meta’s annual event called Connect 2023, at its headquarters in Menlo Park, California. Among the many announcements made, it was also revealed that in December, Quest 3 will get access to Xbox Cloud Gaming. This will enable users who grab the virtual reality device to play Xbox Game Pass games on the giant virtual 2D screen.
Meta Quest 3 Releases Oct. 10, Prices Lowered for Quest 2
At the Connect 2023 event, Meta announced Quest 3, for which pre-orders are now live. The mixed-reality VR headset is expected to be released on October 10th, bringing a plethora of changes to the headset compared to 2020’s Quest 2. With a slimmer form factor, the headset still weighs a bit more than Quest 2.

Quest 3 is coming in two models, one with 128GB of storage that costs $499 and the other with 512GB of storage that costs $649. Quest 3 will feature 2 LCD screens with 4K resolution per eye, running at 90 Hz or up to 120 Hz. The headsets will be the first VR headsets to come with a 2nd-generation Qualcomm Snapdragon XR2 chipset, and both models will have 8GB of RAM.
Those who pre-order the 512GB model will also get 6 months of Meta Quest+ subscription for free, whileAsgard’s Wrath 2will ship for free with both models. Apart from the Meta Quest+ subscription that brings two VR titles every month, gamers can also get access to the entire Xbox Game Pass library later this year, thanks to Xbox Cloud Gaming.
Meta Quest 3 Will Get Xbox Cloud Gaming Access
Meta Quest 3 will get access to Xbox Cloud Gaming in December, which will still be two months away from when the VR headset releases. The Xbox cloud-streaming service will allow gamers to play new and existing gaming titles from the Xbox Game Pass library in the virtual world of Meta Quest 3. Gamers using Meta Quest 3 will get to play recent titles likeStarfield,Forza Horizon 5, and upcoming titles likeForza Motorsporton a larger screen in 4K resolution.

By December, when Quest 3 is expected to get Xbox Cloud Gaming access, Microsoft would have also completed the full acquisition of Activision Blizzard. The acquisition is expected to bring a lot of Activision games to the Game Pass library, and Quest 3 users might just get more titles to experience on their mixed VR headsets.
