A significant part of Marvel’sAvengersstoryline involved the heroics of Iron Man and Captain America. While the two superheroes were the integral links of the narrative as well as being the faces of the Avengers Ensemble, it was their moral clashes and differences of opinion that also lent another complex layer to the plotline.

While Iron Man has shown that he is capable of fighting some of the greatest powers through a combination of armored strength and intellect, it is an alternative version of Captain America who has proved to be his nemesis. Marvel Comics’ 2017 miniseries titledSecret Empire, elaborates on Steve Rogers, the HYDRA antagonist, who becomes a nightmare for Iron Man to conquer.

Iron Man Had Nothing On HYDRA Captain America
It is hard to imagine that Captain America played byChris Evansin the MCU, can symbolize anything other than honesty and integrity, apart from his incomparable courage. But Marvel Comics’ 2017 crossover miniseriesSecret Empire, envisioned an evil avatar of the mighty superhero in which he is a sleeper agent for the terrorist organization HYDRA, planning world domination.
In addition, the Avenger is also seen as one of the few antagonists who has gotten the better of Tony Stark aka Iron Man played byRobert Downey Jr. To begin with, Iron Man is seen to be in a coma for most of events that unfurl, although he appears in holographic form to join the resistance against Hydra Captain America.

At every turn, Iron Man and his armor fail against the power of Captain America despite having conquered him in the past. Hydra Cap proved that no other superhero in this alternate universe could get the better of him.

The Hulk Was A Terrifying Proposition For Iron Man
While HYDRA Captain America troubled Iron Man no end in an alternate universe, the Hulk has always proved that he is a formidable opponent to the suave Tony Stark. Contrasting Iron Man’s guile and intelligence with brute force, Bruce Banner aka the Hulk has wreaked havoc with his superhuman strength.
Over the years, the Hulk has gone ballistic in many fights that has forced Iron Man to build the Hulkbuster armor to help him in battle against him. Unfortunately, the armor made no dent on the Hulk, who continued to get stronger with each conflict. This also proved that while Iron Man had access to the best technology to combat Bruce Banner, ironically, he was unable to create anything of significance to stop his fury.
