Jujutsu Kaisenis known to be heavily inspired byNarutoin its character designs and arcs. However, not manyJJK fansrealize that Gege Akutami could’ve even copied ‘techniques’ from one of the top three Shonen franchises.

‘Copy’, regarded as one ofJujutsu Kaisen’sstrongest abilities, is strangely similar to the Sharingan of theNarutoverse. Both have the ability to mimic a multitude of techniques from opponents. Moreover, there is no limit to it, meaning that they can unconventionally copy any ability.
The Similairities Between ‘Copy’ inJujutsu Kaisen& Sharingan inNaruto
Copy isYuta Okkotsu’sspecial Cursed Technique inJujutsu Kaisen. The ability was first revealed inChapter 178during a three-way death battle between Yuta, Ryu, and Takako. After storing Cursed Energy and abilities throughout the series, Yuta summons Rika with his ring and uses the Domain Expansion technique that he couldn’t use before.

Speaking of Sharingan, the ability is passed down to generations in the Uchiha family. It has three stages: the first allows users to copy ninjutsu and taijutsu, the second allows the copying and dispelling of genjutsu, and the third branches out to several different modes. Sharingan is first introduced inNaruto Chapter 12.
While Sharingan can mimic any jutsu and render the user immune to the opponent’s attacks, Copy can steal any technique as per the limitations of Rika, the vengeful spirit connected to Yuta. Both techniques can be overpowered by using clones followed by outwitting the user with the execution of a completely different ability while they are distracted.

Differences between Copy and Sharingan
While the concept of Copy in Gege Akutami’sJujutsu Kaisenis taken fromNaruto, there are subtle differences between them as well. Copy can only be used when Yuta is connected to Rika and its power is limited to the latter’s form, which is believed to be infinite as of now. Sharingan needs no connection and instead requires copious amounts of chakra.
Copy can also help a user mimic and learn a different language. As seen inJujutsu Kaisen Chapter 0-4, Yuta learms Cursed Speech by replicaticating Toge’s ability. He is able to negate Geto’s swarm of lower-grade curses and becomes more proficient with it as the series progresses.

Sharingan cannot help mimic speech due to being strictly limited to techniques. However, it does get an edge over Copy because it can enhance the user’s perceptive abilities and other attributes alongside mimicking any jutsu. Yuta’s technique does not enhance the copied move or his ability.
This aspect can be seen inChapter 179ofJujutsu Kaisen. In the previous chapter, Yuta, Ryu, and Takako simultaneously used Domain Expansion and cancelled each other’s technique. The story would’ve been different if a Sharingan was used by any of theJJKcharacter since Domain Expansion is also a jutsu.
