Grand Theft Auto Vis one of the biggest games of all time. Releasing all the way back in 2013,Grand Theft Auto Vhas been played by almost everyone at least once due to the game being ported to every new console that releases. Along with the base game, players also can experienceGTA Online, an online multiplayer experience developed in tandem with the main game. Players are so lucky that Rockstar has kept the updates between the main game and Online consistent between each new console, but that may no longer be the case. WhileGTAplayers on Playstation and Xbox are eating good with the new additions to the game for those consoles, PC players aren’t getting the same in return.

Grand Theft Auto V Online: Online?
Grand Theft Auto Vwas released on July 09, 2025 for PS3 and Xbox 360. It is the 7th entry in the mainGTAseries. Players once again can run around in an open world and do as they wish. They can complete story and side quest missions or goof off doing who knows what. While the core game and its mechanics haven’t changed, sometimes more of a good thing isn’t such a bad thing. Players enjoy the game because of the quality and presentation of the things they enjoy doing inGTA, even if it’s what they’ve played in previous entries. The hype forGTAwould only increase as two weeks after the release ofGrand Theft Auto V, Rockstar launchedGTA Online; an online multiplayer experience that allowed players to create their rules and parameters for the “jobs” they would complete with other players. The big selling point for players is that they can do all the ridiculous things they’d do in the base main, but now online with their friends; this would grow more prominent once MODS for the game were introduced. While starting outGTA Onlinewas plagued with many technical issues it has since been patched to fix most of those issues.OverallGrand Theft Autowas thriving! It had released a stellar new entry in the series and a online game that was rising in popularity and users. What makesGrand Theft Auto VandOnlinestand out the most is the fact that both have existed across 3 different console generations.Grand Theft Auto Vwas released for PS4 and Xbox One were released on November 18th 2014, and the PC version was released the following year. What was great about the newer console versions is you could transfer everything from the original copy onto this one. All three versions were met with praise on newer consoles and PC. Most praise went to the increase in fidelity and rendering of the graphics.
Grand Theft Auto V Online: Offline?
On March 15th 2022,Grand Theft Auto VandOnlinewere released on PS5 and Series X/S; and while the reception for these re-releases wasn’t the most positive, it still had lots of players coming back. These versions came with ray-tracing, a new career builder intro, and faster cars plus new time trials. What aboutOnlinefor PC? Unfortunately it was not added to this version. Things only got worse for PC as shortly after the release of these versions, Rockstar announced GTA+, a paid subscription service for the game. This service would reward players with monthly bonuses and rewards. On top of that, they added the Vinewood Car Club toGTA Online. This allowed players to test drive and buy cars that they couldn’t access as easily, and they were at a discounted price as well. Only those who had GTA+ could gain access to this, and the worst part is that it was only for PS5 and Series X/S! It only gets worse for PC, as in the latest update for the game made it easier to track what they have and have not done in the game. Completing tasks and challenges in the career menu would reward goodies in the form of in-game cash and items. This is one of the biggest and best updates the game could’ve had, unfortunately this did not release on PC.Related:https://fandomwire.com/todd-howard-secures-skyrim-win-ahead-of-starfield/This had made some players wonder if Rockstar is slowly abandoning the PC version ofOnlinealtogether, and while it’s unlikely that is the case, it is totally understandable why they may think and feel this way. Rockstar still does add MOST of the new content toOnline, but it’s curious that it isn’t seemingly getting the same treatment as the consoles.
Considering the rise in PC gaming, and the fact that most PCs run on par with if not better than most consoles, you’d think Rockstar would treat the PC version of their games with the upmost respect. Hopefully these issues are resolved with the eventual release ofGTA 6! Do you playGTA Online? Do you playGTA Onlineon PC? Does the handling ofOnlinefor PC upset you? Let us know in the comments!
