This past week, following the debut ofAhsoka,Lucasfilm (the production company ofAhsoka) recently released an official statement detailing the viewership numbers of the series on Disney+.

According to the production, the first episode of Lucasfilm’s newestStar Warsspin-off first episode,Master and Apprentice, has already received 14 million views.
In a statement, Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy sharedAhsoka’s viewership while also thanking all the fans who supported the show.

But in spite of this, the newly releasedAhsokaseries reportedly had one of the worst Disney+ premieres for aStar Warsseries afterThe Mandalorian Season 1.

Ahsoka‘s Success is Less Than What Was Stated
Although Disney+ has not released any official viewership numbers for its previous shows, it is hard to examine how wellAhsokais doing (in other shows).
But, reported by Samba TV, just after the president of Lucasfilm released the statement about its viewership, it is reported that 1.2 million viewers in the U.S watched the episodes. Samba TV has also reported Disney’s previous project’s viewership numbers (for the comparison).

According to the company,Ahsoka‘s 1.2 million U.S. viewers within its initial six days were fewer thanThe MandalorianSeason 3’s opening figures (1.6 million within its initial four days).
The third season of that series experienced an even lower count compared to Season 2 (2.08 million within its initial four days), which was slightly below the premiere ofObi-Wan Kenobi(2.14 million within its initial four days).

EvenTheBook of Boba Fett (the most hated TV mini-series), showcased a greater number of U.S. viewers thanAhsokawithin its initial six days, amassing 1.9 million viewers.
Considering these statistics, the figure still surpassed 1 million, which exceeds the count of a few MCU shows on the platform.Ahsoka‘s debut was unable to match the launches of the otherStar Warsproductions on Disney+.

After the Reportedly Worst Viewership, Lucasfilm Still Wants Season 2 ofAhsoka?
Despite speculation, it’s not been confirmed that season 2 ofAhsokais greenlit. As the statement released by Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy, it looks like she’s happy with this season and about its debut, so who knows, maybe she is looking for the next season soon?
In addition, Rosario Dawson has made it very clear that she wants more of the series. And maybe this is one of the hints she dropped about the season. She said:
“I’m absolutely putting it out into the universe. We’re joking about it, but I’m manifesting it because I feel like I helped Dave [Filoni, Star Wars mastermind and Ahsoka Tano’s co-creator] manifest this role. So I’m ready. I’m excited. I’m willing. I got my ice packs ready to go for Season 2 and beyond! I would not be mad at that.”
Now, only time will tell if there will be a season 2 or not. But the confirmation ofAshoka’s season 2 heavily relies on the success of season 1, which doesn’t seem to meet the requirements.
In the newStar Warswave, both critics and fans seem to enjoy the show. See the comments below to know what fans think:
How? It’s way better than Boba Fett (so far)
It didn’t though. This is going by samba numbers which aren’t really numbers. People need to stop spreading this lie

Some fans are not enjoying it happily ever after — as they believe the statement given by Kennedy is just a marketing tactic that is not related to the actual viewership ofAhsoka.
Ahsokais exclusively available on Disney+. The next episode ofAhsokadrops every Tuesday at 9 p.m. EST.
