Both actresses had massively successful shows that were loved by the audience immensely.The White Lotuseven received an award during the ceremony. However, that is where the controversy began. Plaza became furious with the event that took place but, ultimately only joked about it instead of attacking the ceremony.
Fans were just as supportive of her and understood why she would be displeased. They further criticized the SAG Awards and why something like this would be slid without notice. The audience, although split in two about whether or not her dress was good, all agreed that no one had the right to tell her to hide parts of her body when she is confident and comfortable in her dress.

Aubrey Plaza Was Furious When Someone Commented About Her Dress Being Revealing
Aubrey Plazawent onstage alongside her cast ofThe White Lotusto receive an award for the Drama Series Ensemble. Her experience while receiving the award had not been the kindest. In fact, it was infuriating. The actress was interrupted and was told to hide her underb**b. After being told to do so, she was definitely unhappy, to the extent that she wasn’t even smiling on the stage.

She even cursed audibly for everyone to hear. The dress was designed by Jessica Paster. The designer confirmed that the moment had been upsetting because one of the main focuses of the dress had been the visible underb**b. Although Plaza decided to be professional and not talk about it publically, it was obvious that the remark on her dress had been unnecessary even if it was the concern of being shown on live television.

Aubrey Plaza only shared moments of her and Jenna Ortega enjoying the award ceremony together on social media. It was far from okay for Plaza to have a man tell her what she can and cannot do with her clothes. As someone who is confident in her body and was comfortable with wearing a dress that was supposed to highlight the exact aspect that she was told to hide, it was understandable why fans and the actress alike were angry.
The bittersweet experience for Plaza only led her to swear on live television, bringing up the question of how being confident in her body would have been worse.
