There have been numerous Hollywood actors and directors who have voiced their displeasure when it comes to shooting intimate scenes in films.
For some, it’s a matter of integrity first and awkwardness second, like Keira Knightley, whereas others like Quentin Tarantino are more preoccupied with the obvious element of discomfort that surrounds such scenes. But for Henry Cavill, it is the risk of him actually getting aroused that makes him loathe filming s*xual sequences more than anything else.

Henry Cavill Was Mortified by His Arousal During A S*xual Scene
It doesn’t matter whether you’re stark naked in front of cameras or having a full-fledged makeout session with your co-star because, at the end of the day, it’s as professional an environment as any. And getting an erection is the furthest thing from professionalism, so whenHenry Cavillgot a little too excited during an erotic scene inThe Tudors, he was positively horrified, to say the least.
When Cavill, 40, was bracing for an intimate sequence in the Trevor Morris-helmed period drama which earned theEnola Holmesstar his breakout role, he had a rather embarrassing moment of evidently being turned on by his co-star. In the shot, the latter was supposed to be on top of Cavill, but because of his co-star’s“spectacular br***ts,”theJustice League star got a little too carried away and ended up getting a boner instead.
“It’s only happened to me once and it was very embarrassing. A girl had to be on top of me, she had spectacular breasts, and I hadn’t rearranged my…stuff into a harmless position. She’s basically rubbing herself all over me and, um, it got a bit hard.”
For what it’s worth though, Cavill took full responsibility for the incident and“profusely apologized”to the woman in question, admitting that it was a wholly unacceptable and unprofessional move on his part. No wonder he’s not the biggest fan of s*x scenes.

Sure, his unsavory incident inThe Tudorsis obviously a major contributor to Cavill’s distaste toward sensual scenes, but it’s certainly not the only reason why. Going n*de in front of a whole film crew is not only embarrassing but also severely uncomfortable for probably everyone present in the room.

“You don’t think of sex scenes as showing your bum to the nation. “It’s actually acutely uncomfortable being naked in a roomful of people. The very last thing it is is sexy. The actual physicality is very uncomfortable. All you’re doing is smacking your nuts against someone, and nothing is going in.”
Yeah, it’s no surprise so many actors keep a ten-foot pole between them and the prospect of enacting a s*xual scene in movies.
