In recent times, the creation of cinematic franchises and series has been all the rage, and the stars of the industry have big shoes to fill due to that trend. Therefore, actors and actresses who are well-adapted and successful in that field are often kept in high regard, and at the moment, Mark Wahlberg is the one who has proven his ability to create guaranteed hits with his performances.

From commercial success to critical praise, his films have taken everyone by storm in these past years. But when it came to his cult classicPlanet of The Apes,it failed to make an impression. The film turned out this way because before they had even started to make the film, they had already announced its release date.
Mark Wahlberg Reveals WhyPlanet of The ApesFelt So Rushed
When it comes to declaring who a certified hitmaker is in the film industry today, many may look towardsMark Wahlbergas the answer. From classic indie films to becoming one of the most commercially successful stars in the industry, the most popular of which being hisTransformers: Age of Extinctionreboot, was something that the star made look easy.
But when it comes to some of his earlier attempts at a franchise renewal, not all of them took off the way he would’ve liked,Planet of The Apesbeing the best example.

In a past interview withUproxx, theTedstar was asked what he thought about his aforementioned film with directorTim Burtonand the latest reboot that was made in 2011. He said that while he had the best time working with the filmmaker, he does feel like his iteration is lacking in some places.
He revealed that the biggest reason for the film not being up to the mark was because they had announced the release date before the film even went into production. This meant that the shooting had to be wrapped up within the time limit, thus causing corner-cutting. He said:

“Even though I wasn’t thrilled to be remaking Planet of the Apes, I was thrilled to have an opportunity to work with Tim – so I would literally rush to work every day just to hang out with him and pick his brain and watch him do his thing. Could the movie have been better? Maybe. Was it rushed because the studio had a release date before they had shot a foot of film – without having a script they had really nailed down? There are a lot of moving factors. But the best part was working with Tim.”
Thus, what could’ve been an iconic reboot was dulled by the feeling of a rushed project by the production schedule.

What WasPlanet Of The ApesAbout?

Thus, to find him and bring him back, Davidson takes his pod out and goes on a search and rescue mission.
