Summer Game Fest has kicked off with a bang, with a completely unexpected game being featured, let alone featured front and centre at the start of the whole show! Whilst fans have been begging and petitioning for Ubisoft to bring back thePrince of Persiaseries, it has long seemed a fruitless task… until now.

Being developed by Ubisoft Montpellier, the studio better known for Rayman Legends, the game has gone back to its roots, with a 2.5D look to it, and we don’t have a ridiculously long wait thankfully, with the game due out January 18th, 2024!

The newPrince of Persia: The Lost Crownis entirely separate to the upcoming, albeit delayedThe Sands of Timeremake being developed from the ground up by Ubisoft Montreal. Unfortunately delayed due to several different reasons including COVID since its original announced three years ago, not much is known about that property, but whilst we won’t see any more on that, we do have a completely new game in the franchise to look forward to!

Gameplay showed the franchise staples, with swordplay, platforming, time-reversing and more, and you can consider us just a few of the no doubt thousands of fans excited by the idea of getting to wall-run again! More information will get released over the coming months, and with Ubisoft Forward in a few days on June 12th, it’ll be surprising if the developer doesn’t showcase more of what many consider to be one of their flagship and most recognisable franchises.
Prince of Persia: The Lost Crownis scheduled for release on August 05, 2025 on Nintendo Switch, PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.
