The DC Universe had not been in a good place even before James Gunn jumped in to fix and reboot the entire franchise. To mend it, a lot of crucial steps were taken and although he got a lot of backlash, it was not fair towards him as many other factors got ignored during the process as well.

Zachary Levi Admits That Zack Snyder Played A Part In Dooming The DC Universe

Zachary Levihas very carefully said many things about the fate thatShazam! Fury of the Godscame to meet. The movie was extremely important for him and was meant to be a family movie but, the image of superhero movies being dark has made it difficult for movies that are shot in a lighter tone to become successful.

“If you don’t want to watch a movie with humor in it because you’re more into straight-up hard action, I get it,”Levi said.“I’m not trying to force anyone to do anything they don’t want to do. But let me remind you where comics and Captain Marvel/Shazam started… These were comics geared toward younger people and the fun and the silliness and the goofiness.”

He further admitted that Zack Snyder’s fans had a part to play in the movie’s failure despite his not wanting to blame anyone. The fans all decided to review bomb the movie whether or not it had been good. Their obsession with wanting to bring back Snyder’s idea of the Justice League has been interfering with various plans that can harm the future of the DCU.

Zachary Levi Claims The Original Post-Credit Scene ForShazam 2Was Not Allowed To Be Filmed

The actor confirmed that it was originally supposed to be Quintessa Swindell and Aldis Hodge who were meant to recruit his character into the Justice Society of America. However, someone interfered in the process and forbid any members from theBlack Adammovie to come in any other project. While the person had not been revealed, it was reported that Dwayne Johnson was responsible for it.

“People are slagging on James Gunn because Jennifer Holland, his wife who is an actor and is in ‘Peacemaker’ and ‘Suicide Squad’… we used Jennifer and Steve in that scene in ‘Shazam,’”Levi continued.“That was not the original intent. The original intent was to have Hawkman and Cyclone to be there inviting me into the Justice Society. Walter Hamada, Peter Safran, David Sandberg… we had an awesome scene and we were thwarted… I’m merely coming to the defense of the truth. Truth is good. We should all live in it.”

Although Levi was not happy with direct blame being put on a particular individual, he did not deny it either. The scene would have impacted much harder and fans would have appreciated the movie more.

Shazam! Fury of the Godsis now available to watch in theatres.
