Sharon Stone has witnessed the highest of highs and lowest of lows in Hollywood. Although her career took a substantial toll in the 2000s following her unfortunate health concerns, the 90s witnessed the actress rosing to prominence, thanks to the plethora of classics under her belt.

But despite initially garnering the spotlight withBasic Instinct, starring Michael Douglas, the actress doesn’t consider this erotic thriller as her most substantial achievement in showbiz. And unsurprisingly, that title goes to her collaboration with some of the greatest in the game.

Sharon Stone NamesCasinoas Her Best Work
Casino marked the 8th collaboration betweenRobert De Niroand Martin Scorsese, and getting the opportunity to work alongside these greats was a dream come true forSharon Stone. However, theBasic InstinctStar wasn’t overshadowed by the presence of other prominent actors, delivering her best on-screen performance to date. And for her exceptional work, the actress was deservedly rewarded, earning her first and only Academy Award nom for Best Actress.
Considering how much the opportunity to join forces with the cinema giants meant for her, it’s reasonable why she considered playing Ginger McKenna the pinnacle of her career.

“It’s deeply gratifying in two ways. One, because I see the film and I realize… it’s true! I haven’t been deluding myself all these years. I really can do it. And because I got up to bat with my dream people, the one actor that all my career I strived to work with, that was the apex for me… and then Marty… And then to get the pat on your back from your peers is always pretty great. You know, you don’t get a lot of that.”Stone said.
But unlikeCasino, where she had a great time working alongside the likes of Robert De Niro and Martin Scorsese, the production process for her breakthrough film wasn’t plain sailing.
