Tom Hiddleston’sLokihas proven to be a great success for Marvel Studios’ television platform, and it is all because the creative team that worked on it was given all the freedom they could have to weave a story that is contained in one corner of the multiverse sandbox yet as imaginative as possible.
The demands for the majority of the MCU projects were high and massive, often requiring plot lines that would build towards a particular culmination, in this case, theAvengers: Endgame. The treatment forLoki, however, is not the same.

LokiProducer Reveals Marvel Studios’ Demands For The Show
During an interview withLokiproducerKevin Wright, he toldColliderwhat creative demands Marvel Studios had for them before they helmed the series. He responded:
“The one headline we got from Kevin [Feige] from season 1 was, ‘I love this world, I want to see more of it, and I want to meet more people there.’ Because it felt like we were dealing with a smaller kind of corner of this organization, and from there it was basically a mandate to go further, push it further, lean more into the drama, lean more into the world, and just build. And, frankly, season 1 was that way too.”
As Wright explained, the Marvel executives did not push them to include certain demands into the show but only told them to explore it and see to it that they could handle whatever potential outcome the series would provide. Wright continued:
“We’ve been given a lot of creative freedom, and all the filmmakers who have come in and collaborated with us on this show have been given a lot of leeway to kind of put our mark on it.”
This is definitely why the series has become so successful in its endeavor to weave a story that is somehow different from theAvengerssaga but still connected to the greater multiverse.

Will There BeLokiSeason 3?
Kevin Wright also provided insight in the same interview withCollideras to the future of the franchise. The producer was asked if they have created the second season with a planned follow-up in mind, to which he answered:
“I would say Season 1 and Season 2 were developed and created as, like, kind of two chapters of the same book. We felt pretty strongly, all of us involved, that Season 2 was about closing that book but that there are many other books on the shelf for this character and for this world.”
The recently concluded season is the ending for the narrative from Season 1, but Wright assured fans that there are other tales that can be derived from the many stories of Loki. He continued:
“But this felt like it wanted to be the conclusion of these great things that we set up in Season 1. We don’t want to constantly leave people with drastic cliffhangers for our finales.”
Marvel Studios still has a lot to figure out regarding the potential third season, with everything that’s going on with one of its cast,Jonathan Majors, and the dreadful superhero fatigue.
