“A lot of people think that you know, I’ve kind of going through something. But it’s been my whole life you know and they go like ‘Well, it’s a reaction to depression, he’s dealt with depression his whole life’. There is no hint of depression in my life whatsoever. Depression only happens when you don’t accept what is and when you are playing a character, you know in life. So when I tried to go back and play Jim Carrey, I got depressed and now I don’t attempt to do that anymore.”

It is refreshing and thought-provoking to hear Carrey be open and vulnerable about his personal struggles and how he has overcome them. It really shows his level of wisdom and intellect in addition to his unique way of living life and dealing with personal yet relatable problems.
